Simon Fraser University
The Irish have have been very fortunate to have a warm relationship with SFU's world class pipe band. The famed Simon Fraser University Pipe Band won its sixth world championship in Scotland on Aug. 16. Members of both SFU's pipe and drum corps have very generously mentored our band. With this guidance our band has made great strides in musicianship. We greatly respect and appreciate this affiliation.
Triumph Street Pipe Band
Wearing the MacLean of Duart Weathered Tartan, the 43-member band is led by Pipe Major David Hilder, Drum Sergeant Andre Tessier, includes award-winning pipers and drummers from B.C.
Community Support
As the BCR Irish Pipes and Drums is a non profit organization financial viability relies heavily on the support of the community. In return the band donates it's time to worthy causes such as military services and community events.

Hank Strubin has been a very generous supporter of our group. Each year we are fortunate to be guests of Hank on Bowen Island for Bowfest. We perform in the parade and in the band stand followed by a raucous lunch at one of the local patios. Hank is a lovely gentleman, we love this guy.

The Legions in Vacnouver have also been of great support to the BCR. Burnaby's branch 148 has been generous in allowing us to rehearse in thier building as well as hosting out Scotch Tasting fundraiser event. Every Remembrance day, after the service, the band drives around the city performing for veterans at various Legions making branch 148 our last stop.
